Job Description Summary

Provide professional and administrative support to the Office of Admissions. Provide support for prospective students and their support network, and high school counselors and teachers in regards to the admissions process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

• Serve as an integral part of our domestic application processing team by uploading application materials, releasing admissions decisions, running daily error reports, and running acceptance letters
• Mail out acceptance packets, deposit packets, and parent guides
• Answer main admissions phone lines and respond to our general Admissions email
• Interact with administrative units including academic departments, Financial Aid, Registrars, Payroll Services, and Graduate School
• Manage the dual-enrollment process including registering students for coursework and answering emails and questions regarding dual enrollment
• Coordinate the logistics of the Michigan Tech College Fair
• Manage duplicate applications
• Verify international application materials
• Coordinate the payroll process and EPAF data entry
• Maintain inventory of office supplies and assist with supply orders
• Troubleshoot prospective student login information
• Assist with the supervision of front desk students and assign them projects as needed
• Assist with daily campus visits, by updating and printing the itinerary and coordinating the check-in process
• Update the campus visitation schedule and coordinate campus-wide department visits
• Provide administrative support for financial transactions including check requests, reallocations, purchase requisitions, use charges, invoices and deposits
• Assist at large-scale on-campus recruitment events
• Commit to continuously improving and thinking of outside-the-box solutions that would improve our admissions process
• Take an active role in staying current with Michigan Tech news, events, facts, figures, degree programs, and related institutional information
• Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives
• Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)

● High school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

● 5 years experience in clerical of administrative support
● 5 years experience using personal computers, basic software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
● 5 years experience in a customer service setting

Desirable Education and/or Experience

● Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
● Experience working with databases or CRM systems such as Banner, Slate and ticketing software
● Experience working in high school setting or higher education

● Demonstrated knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation

● Demonstrated ability to learn technical CRM software and computer- based applications
● Demonstrated ability to effectively adapt to change
● Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and communicate across cultural boundaries
● Ability to use judgment when dealing with confidential information
● Demonstrated commitment to contribute to a safe work environment

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

● Knowledge of Michigan Tech
● Demonstrated knowledge of Banner
● Demonstrated knowledge of Slate or other admissions CRM
● Demonstrated ability to protect data with integrity

Required Training and Other Conditions of Employment
